RF IDeas now offers LAN/PC logon solutions using three approaches:
1. A secure contactless card holding modifiable Username and Password as a solution which requires no client or server software, or
2. A proximity card holding a static Password as a solution which requires no client or server software, or
3. Bundled with software from a 3rd party software vendor.
Approach 1: Makes use of the KT-AIRID-L starter kit and the RDR-7075 readers. In this approach the unique iCLASS contactless card or token is used for the entire username and password, or for two-factor authentication: the entire username and a portion of the password. For a two-factor authentication system, the user adds a short PIN after the contactless card is waved. If auto-logoff or locking is required, simply add the pcProx-Sonar presence detector.
This system works on every operating system, supporting every existing application deployed, and protects against:
* Lost/stolen badges
* Sharing or writing down credentials
all without deploying software!
Approach 2: This approach makes use of the pcProx-USB reader. Support for HID, Indala, Casi, Pyramid and more. In this approach the unique proximity card token is used for either the entire password, or a portion of it. For a two-factor authentication system, the user adds a short PIN after the proximity card is waved. If auto-logoff or locking is required, simply add the pcProx-Sonar presence detector.
Approach 3: A bundled end-user solution consisting of a proximity reader and choose one of our 3rd party integrators.
