The security, reliability and convenience of proximity identification and/or access is available in a self-contained electronic pc board module. RF IDeas provides the OEM version of the pcProx Module to many third party manufacturers who integrate the proximity technology into their standard offerings. Typical applications include PC-based time & attendance, access control, and embedded controllers. Data exchange is via the RS232 port, or TTL. The output is ASCII and does not require the use of RF IDeas' software developer's kit. Data is output immediately when card is read. All data is sent 9600, N, 8, 1 in ASCII format. The SDK does support the reader and provides additional programmer utilities for parsing the card's bit-stream into facility, ID codes, and parity bits. A regulated (5v) power source may be supplied externally or via the supplied cable with pass-through PS/2 connector for use with a standard keyboard or mouse connection.
